Our History

Established in 2010 by founders Richard Hasemore, Dave Hasemore, Darren Hasemore, and Paul Pickford, Gillingham Town embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of football. Our inaugural season, 2010/2011, witnessed the club securing the runners-up position in division 6 of The Rochester and District League. Not only did we earn promotion, but we also clinched victory in The Quarter Century Cup.

The subsequent years marked a period of consistent growth for the club, achieving promotion every season until the 2016/2017 campaign, when Gillingham Town reached the premier Division of The Rochester and District League. In 2017/2018, the club added another feather to its cap by winning the Group A Sittingbourne and Milton Charity Cup. The year 2019 brought a new chapter as the club joined the Kent County League, now firmly established in Division 3 Central and East.

In 2017, a pivotal moment occurred when Paul, seeking a positive change in the club’s philosophy, creating a dynasty which helped him stay sober. This shift not only supported Paul in overcoming personal challenges but also laid the foundation for a community club dedicated to making a positive impact on and off the pitch.

Looking ahead, Gillingham Town Football Club aspires to continue its ascent through the leagues, aiming for the professional game. As a community-run club, we are deeply committed to supporting and enriching our local community.

Our commitment to grassroots football has garnered recognition from esteemed figures like ex-Arsenal players Eduardo and Denilson, who have joined us as Ambassadors. Their support, facilitated by lifelong friend and current captain Alex Bernardes, underscores the importance of fostering football at the grassroots level.
